I am first starting out with upgrading my graphics card as it over heats and crashes while playing WOW. Dont make fun of me.

My specs are:

Operating System
Windows 8.1 Pro
CPU
AMD Athlon 7750 Black Edition
RAM
4.00GB Dual-Channel DDR2
Motherboard
GA-MA770-UD3
Graphics
640MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS
Power Supply
450 watt

I Have a 950 watt PSU I can put in from my old tower. Not modular.

So my question for now is what Graphics card can I get thats better than the one I have for under 100$ I prefer to have DVI as video output.

I was thinking a GeForce GT 640 2GB would be fine. But I am open.

That's actually a pretty good motherboard, but you're likely stuttering also as a result of that dual core CPU.

Well I'm not stuttering. As of today my whole computer freezes. It mainly has been video drivers crashes and having to reboot the computer to get them working again. I already did a Clean install of the drivers and it didnt fix it. The card should not be idleing around 59c-65c. That to me is no es bueno. I am well aware the dual core is limiting it, But if I chose to I could over clock it to increase performance some. Also I will upgrade to a better CPU when I have the money. For the mean time I would just like a better GPU.

What is the make and model number of that power supply? If its a crappy unit, then that most likely is your cause.
