upgrading my CPU

I'm thinking of pulling out my 2.4ghz celeron and upgrading to something faster, but keeping the rest of the machine. I need to know what the motherboard is capable of handling and ran Everest Home edition, however I do not understand the report enough to google and find out weather my board can handle a faster chip.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Real Clock 167 MHz (DDR)

I would be able to help if I could just know the motherboard name...However, it doesn't seem to know.

Any chance that you have the box for the motherboard lying around?

its probably written somewhere on the mobo itself, thats who i found out what my model was. and something that I do to make it easier to remember what parts I have is I take digital pictures of the labels on each one, then you dont have to open your case everytime you wanna find out somethign about a part.

Well you've got either the 661GX or 661FX chipset

If you have the 661FX you can install up to a PentiumD class processor however Im getting the feeling oyu have a 661GX which effectively limits you to NorthwoodB (or running NorthwoodC's at 133Mhz instead of 200Mhz) ... now the difference is the 661FX has an AGP slot and the 661GX doesnt.

I am going to guess you have a 661GX based system

I went to the manufacturers site and determined I can upgrade the chip but only to 2.8 ghz. I think I'll suck it up and go with this cpu/computer as long as I can before getting a new dual-core 64 bit computer
