ive got an old p3 "dell optiplex gx1" running 2000 pro and has 64mb sdram ram my question is if i upgrade the ram to 256-512 will it run perfectly because atm its slow as crap

do you know what the max supported RAM is? some older mobos stop supporting RAM at 384MB...

if you don't know... you could download and run CPU-Z and google the motherboard manufacturer and model...

but yes it will run better, don't want to say that it will run perfectly though... :P...

You've got 3 DIMM sockets, which according to dell will take a 128MB module max, 256MB if they are ECC. Maximum supported RAM is 768MB but that will be ECC. Non-ECC will cap at 384.
