Upgrading my pc

i wanted to start upgrading my computer,but i don't know where to start can anyone help pls?--the main thing i do on my pc is plaing mmorpg games and i want to get rid of the lag which parts do i need to exchange to get rid of it?
 
intel core 2 duo
2gb RAM
250gb HDD
Nvidia GEforce 8400
Windows Vista Home Premium

i mostly play mmorpg games such as Last Chaos,Allods etc. and i want to defeat the lag i have sometimes
 
what kind of internet connection do you have. what is the speed? that is probably your problem, your computer seems to be good enough to play games. You could try adding RAM, can you tell how much ram it is using when you are playing a game through task manager?
