Its a ok CPU. Its not really a Phenom, no L3 cache. Its really a Athlon II.

The next step up, would be the Phenom II 955. Has L3 cache. Plus its unlocked, easier to overclock. 40 bucks more though.

I think it would. In the long run I think you would probably too. Has L3 cache. Unlocked multiplyer. Overclocking you dont have to worry about your Memory and HT speed.
