Upgrading my PC

I would like to upgrade my rig. I currently have:
AsusTeK p7p55d-e lx Motherboard
Amd Radeon 6700 series GPU
Intel i3 540 CPU
I was thinking about buying the GTX 960 or 970 would i need to upgrade my CPU to avoid bottlenecking? And are there any good CPUs for my motherboard. It would be mostly for gaming purposes.
 
Well, you have socket 1156 is a few generations old already But yeah, your cpu would bottleneck your video card I think. You would have to find a quad core cpu on ebay or similar or maybe just get new motherboard, cpu, ram all together.

So it is nearly impossible to find a CPU that doesnt bottlenect the GTX for that MotherBoard? :/ Gonna be expensive otherwise

If you can find an I5 750 or 760 on ebay or something then it would probably work for you. Other than that you would be looking at a new build all together.

Alright thanks:) would you like to list some good parts that i would need for a completely new pc or just a good gaming laptop. Price range would be about 1000euros. Thanks in advance :)
 
What specific GPU do you have? Most of the 6700 was pretty low end by today's standards.

You can ebay a 7 series i5 for $40-45. What games do you play and what performance goals do you have?

It'd probably be better to just roll that cash into a newer build, although you could upgrade the GPU now to something like a RX 480 and then roll it into the newer build later.
 
How do i identify the GPU? Every program and my own pc says it just AMD Radeon 6700 Series and yeah... i most likely will get a whole new pc. I am playing LoL and CSGO and i would play the new games such as Bf4 (which i currently have to play on my ps4) but because my PC is what it is they wont run smoothly enough. So i would like to play thease newer games and games like 7 days to die with stable good fps and high quality. I got 144hz monitor so i would like to play atleast CSGO with enough fps for it my monitor to actually show the difference. Anyways as i mentioned earlier i am going to get a whole new PC. Should i build one or pick something like... Asus Rog? Again max price is ABOUT 1000euros. Thank you for reply :)
