OK so I'm going to update my very outdated system, I will list what I have now and what I was going to buy. I would like input and any suggestions from you guys. I am building this for gaming and some webdesign apps.
Current:
Mobo: Abit NF7-S
CPU: XP2600+
Video: ATI X800XT
HD: Raptor
RAM: 512MB Generic

What I was going to buy:
Mobo: ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
CPU: AMD 64 X2 3800
Video: ATI X1900XT
HD: keeping my raptor
RAM: Corsair XMS 2GB (2x 1GB)

Let me know what you think and will this be good for gaming?
I think I should see a big improvement.

Motherboard:
The ASUS motherboard looks great. It's going to be great for overclocking and it also has features that could come in handy later when upgrading. The user reviews for this motherboard also look promising. You may want to consider some extra cooling though, especially if you overclock. One tigerdirect reviewer says, "The main flaw that has come to my attention is the small fan on the chipset. It struggles to keep the board cool..."

CPU:
Great cpu, it should work pretty well for you, and even better if overclocked. Keep it cool though.

RAM:
That ram is a great deal for the price. I just bought it for my pc and I have been completely satisified. I couldn't believe the deal newegg had so I bought it quickly, no complaints.

Video:
Looks like an amazing video card. Check out this link for some well detailed specs: http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Hardware/Reviews/atix1900launch/ This card should do very well for gaming but it's a little over my budget. Apparently it fits yours though and if so... go for it. You should have a pretty awesome system. Make sure you have a good power supply though to run everything well and look into good cooling too.

Thank you for your reply.
I think I have changed my mind on ram, I think I may try this. Same price as corsair but OCZ seem to have better ratings.
Also would a AMD 4000+ be better for games then the X2 3800??

Wait until Conroe comes out, then build your system. If you still decide to go with amd, they'll be major pricecuts for the AM2 line. And if you decide to go with Conroe, well they're looking pretty impressive right now.

Whats the AM2? sorry its been awhile since Ive upgraded and Im not up to date with all the new stuff.

So as I am upgrading and want it to last a while the AM2 would be a better way to go?

yeah pretty much, since there isn't that much of a price difference between 939 and am2

OK, im going with the above system I configured. My other Q I assume that video card will work with that mobo (asus A8N-SLI)? Im not going with 2 cards right now but maybe later.

I would very much recommend going with AM2 instead of skt 939. As was said, the prices for AM2 are almost exactly that of 939, if not cheaper in some cases. Really a no-brainer, as there is every reason to go with AM2 (albeit most of them very minor), and virtually no reason to go with 939 at this point in time.

The only reason to go 939 might be the better selection of motherboards to choose from. Which IMO doesn't come close to matching the reasons to go with AM2. The upgradability of AM2 (along with the recent AM3 news) is simply reason enough alone.

I have 1 reason, DDR, am2 only comes in DDR2 it looks like, correct me if im wrong. Well I have 2gb of corsair xms pro DDR. I got this unexpected (from wife) so I really would like to use it. So I figure 939 is only way to go.

Can you tell me what motherboard in am2 would be the best? or compare with the A8N-sli? Also what kind of ddr2 should I buy?? I can use the DDR corsair in another machine.
