Upgrading (need new PSU?)

Well my Evga 7900GS has served me well for two years, but with new all these new great games coming out, I am looking to upgrade. I have been out of the loop since my last build (~2 years ago) so I am not up to date on much of anything haha. However, after browsing newegg for a bit and reading quite a few reviews I think I am pretty well set on this...

This thing is exponentially better than what I am running now and I hope to see a rather extensive jump in performance. However one of my concerns is my PSU. The one I had in my first build was a 550w thermaltake, which bit the dust during a lightning storm. My uncle had a 450w something or rather lying around, and I have been using that since with no problems. However, I am thinking that this beast, or anything current I go with now for that matter will need a higher watt/amp psu.

I haven't done too much research on this part, so I am not sure of the exact requirements, but I was looking into this buy along with the card.

So basically, are there any better buys for cards and psu's? Looking to spend no more then $250 on the card, and no more then $100 on the psu. I was also debating a new mobo, cpu and ram, but I think I will hold off on that till summer (read: poor college kid) Any opinions/information would be much appreciated, Thanks =)

EDIT: I think its probably appropriate that I give my specs for what I am running now, this is based off memory, so appologies for innacuracies.

Mobo: outdated Gigabyte LGA 775 something, maybe a p3 (warrants an upgrade soon no matter what it is, I don't want bottle necking)
CPU: Conroe Core 2 Duo 6400 2mb L2 cache (also could use an upgrade)
RAM: 4x1g Patriot 667
Videocard: Evga 7900gs 256mb, 128bit
PSU: 450w no name
Harddrive: 250gb seagate

now that I look at it, most everythings out dated haha, but as of now I am focusing on the card and psu =P

Hmm, never had a radeon before, this will perform better then the nvidia I chose? The nvidia has higher mb and bit, but im sure something about this makes it comprable/superior, the GDDR5? Thanks again
