Just bought Oblivion and it runs fine on my 9800SE-AIW. However, I am a needy person and just want more out of it :P

Anyone recommend a decent mid-high range GFX card to upgrade to. Looking at £100-250, AGPx8, obviously needs to be better than my current card but AIW isn't mandatory.

Thanks for any comments.

the 7800GS is the best AGP card out there. In the US it is around $300.

Considering 250 pounds = 430 USD then i would recommend a 7800 GS. Its right in your price range and will give you very good performace.

Sweet, cheers.

Just wondering if it makes a difference if I went for

The only difference i can see is the price, which is minimal. XFX do tend to have very good stock cooling though, im not sure what CLUB3D is like. But on a technical level, they are the same cards.

Nevermind, they're both the same. Go with the XFX, because it is only one pound more, while being a more reputable company.

Looks like the xfx just got my vote then. It's only £3 more expensive when you add VAT.

Edit: Oh, wait. Jet, you're wrong...

XFX GEFORCE 7800GS AGP 256MB DDR3 DVI+TV+VGA

Actually, the Club3d has a 375mhz core clock and the xfx a 400mhz one.

Don't always go by these stats. I've seen them wrong many times from sites who sell the products. A big offender of this is Newegg.

If you go to the acctual people who make the cards.

Club3d (this one search for card)

XFX

You can see that they are identical. I myself would go with XFX only because they have a little more rep, and it is only one pound more. Other than that they are the exact same cards.

High-Definition TV, it's basically a TV with better image quality and usually better contrast ratio. And it's also expensive but is getting cheaper as the demand gets bigger.

That is what i was implying.

I myself realized that they were identical within seconds after posting my 2nd post. Still, the XFX is a better known company, and they both are almost exactly the same in pounds.
