Upgrading Parts

Upgrading the comp in my sig.
My budget is about 360.. so uhh i've come up with this stuff, what do you guys think?


DFI nF4X Infinity Socket 754 NVIDIA nForce4 4X ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
~Upgrading mobo so i can have a PCI express slot and upgrade my video card

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro Cooling Fan with Heatsink - Retai

Get a mobo with 4 DDR slots rather then three. Hold on-lemme find one...

Oh. No socket 754s have more then 3. Nevermind then.

The rest looks good, get the 7600 GS instead.
 
Also, do you feel that you really need the aftermarket HSF? If you're not planning on heavy overclocking, consider dropping it, and putting the money into a further video card upgrade (a 7600GT, for example).
 
well my cpu has been over heating(freezing up, than when i shut it off and turn it back on, it says "CPU over temperature error. Press f1 to continue"). it's the only one that has the highest temperature when i'm playing a game
so would getting the hsf change this?
also check out the reviews on the mobo and the thing about the memory, after you read it let me know what i should do

a hsf should make that problem go right away, it will cool it signafigantly (<excuse my spelling) more than without
 
Yea, that is what i thought. so what about the motherboard, will it decrease the performance of the ram trying to make it recognize 1.5g ram or what? (check out some of the reviews ppl left on it)
