Upgrading PC

Hi everybody!

I'm not so good with PCs so bare with me here. I am putting up info from Everest in hopes that the people that understand it can help me

A friend of mine was over at my apartment and wanted me to try out a few games(Mercenaries 2, GTA 4, Mass effect) and they all lagged like hell even on the lower settings so I decided I need to upgrade my PC.

My current one has:

CPU: DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo E4400, 2000 MHz (10 x 200)
Graphic Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS (640 MB)
Motherboard: Asus P5LD2 SE
RAM: 3072

Can someone tell me which part of the PC that really is need of an upgrade?
The problem is that I can't upgrade it all at the same time so I will need someone to tell me which is the smartest thing to upgrade first for increased performance

If you need any more info I will try to find it

Thanks

You need to figure out what brand and model power supply you have also.

I would suggest a better graphics card first, but not before finding info on your power supply.

Your processor may also bottleneck a new card, so upgrade may be futile.

The 8800GTS isnt that bad of a card. If its lagging that bad on low setting, sounds like you might have a problem somewhere else. Have you updated your drivers in awhile?

I don't know how to find the brand name of the power supply

I have the latest driver for the 8800 card
What else could be making it go slow?
