Hello,

Ive got a new dell E521 system, and it needs a 7900 GS card for graffix. 200.00 price range.

My PSU does not have a 6 pin Power Cable stock.

But I have found two 7900 GS cards that use a 4 pin power cable.

The second choice comes with an upgraded fan. I need to find out if it will fit in my new rig. It seems to be the better of the two.

I will also need this 4 pin Y Power Cable to split off the one running to the CD/DVD drive.

Or maybe there is a solution to use the 6 pin 7900 GS cards?, without having to upgrade the PSU.

With the 6 pin graphics cards there usually comes a 4 pin molex to 6 pin PCI-e connector, though I wouldn't recommend using it, as the video card draws quite a bit of power, unless you have a spare 4pin molex line. Could you buy a better PSU?

So would it be a bad idea to get 2 4pin Y power cables ?

Couldnt I split off P3 then plugin the other 4pin Y cable to that split. Then Plug those 2 ends into the included adaptor for a 6pin card ?

Then I could get a 6 pin card like an evga /w lifetime warrenty / trade in.

later I could trade the card up for a DX10 capable card and upgrade the PSU
