im looking to upgrade my processor mine is an amd right now , its a socket am2 but the new one im looking at is am3 will it work with it ?

I think you'll have a pretty tough time fitting a new mobo into a HP's case, the power connectors are mostly "tied" to the motherboard, meaning that it was made specifically for it.

yeah i figured that , so i ordered a new case too, got a case, motherboard, processor, heatsink and heatsink compound
