Upgrading Ram and no ideas..!

Ok, I need to up my RAM and I have no idea if it is DDR or DDR2. I can take my case and whatnot apart to check but will there be anything that will let me know ON the RAM stick?

Download a program like CPU-Z, it will tell you the pin type and speed.

i came across this thread in my own quest for the proper ram, so i ran the progam above it says i have 1 stick of 512mb of pc3200...while the huge sticker on the front of my computer says pc2700? is there any other way to check which speed to buy???
also its says my computer can run dual channel...is this the most beneficial way to go???
