Upgrading RAM on an HP Pavilion a1310n Media Center PC

Hello,

I am planning on upgrading my memory on the aforementioned computer as well as the video card. I currently have 1GB of RAM installed, and plan on putting in another 1GB. A few questions:

1) Is there any difference between going with two 512mb memory sticks versus one 1gb memory stick?

2) What all do I need to know to make sure I purchase compatible stick(s)?

I went to crucial.com and used the test program and it determined that I have 2 available slots with a maximum of 4GB. According to the website, I need DDR 400 (PC 3200), but is this all I need to know to purchase from another site? I am looking at the following sticks, since they are much cheaper than crucial (and have good reviews):

Do I need to know anything about voltage? Speeds?

P.S. I have been told that crucial makes excellent quality memory that can last, but since I will only be using this computer for some mid-level gaming and possibly some video editing for the next 3 months, I do not really want a long-term investment.

Thanks in advance, and if I need to add any info let me know

1.)not really but i would go with a 1gb
2.)you aready did what you need to
just try and make shure that your ram your getting has the same voltage and cas lentacy as your ram you have now and its not nessaserily a good idea to mix ram brands but if you have to go ahead

Thank you for the quick response. I found that my CAS latency is 3 clocks, but how do I determine the voltage/brand my memory is?
