Like the title states, I need some help in figuring out how to upgrade my 700mhz P3. I don't know where the cpu is located or what socket it is. It's a Gateway and a coppermine core if that helps. How can I do this??

Pck21, your first and most obvious purchase should be RAM, as much as you can afford and fit in the motherboard. Then work on other stuff... if you find you still need to.

I was doing some research and I found somewhere that the max ram I could install was 384mb, which I have at the moment. Seems like a random number to stop at though...

I'm tkaing a guess, but theres three RAM slots I assume? 128MB peices of ram x3=384

Ah. In that case, yes, if possible, a CPU upgrade would be in order. Let's see whatcha got.

Ok I will be home in about 3 hours or so and then I'll hook everything up and go to that site.

Ok well I downloaded that program but it's not working. Did I mention that I'm running linux? Could that be a problem??
