Ive been using AMD for awhile now, and now that the core 2 duos have dropped in price, Im getting me one also. This is what I will have:

Monitor: SCEPTRE X22WG-1080p Black 22" 2ms(GTG) DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 2000:1 Built in Speakers

CPU: Core 2 Duo 6600 Conroe 2.4ghz

MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3

VIDEO CARD: EVGA 320-P2-N811-AR GeForce 8800GTS 320MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card

HD: Western Digital 16mb cache 250gigs 7200rpm

RAM: Corsair XMS2 5-5-5-15 DDR2 800

PSU: I currently have the COOLMAX CP-500T EPS12V 500W Power Supply 115/230 V UL, CSA, TUV (but the older version when the wires had bright, fruity colors) Will this be enough to power this new system?

Now, this was done on a tight budget (Im now waiting for the parts I just ordered). What im questioning is: Is the 8800gts 320 version still good at the resolutions of 1680 by 1050 (22 inch monitor widescreen)? Ive read that some people say that it gets worst at 1600 by 1200 resolution. However, Im not sure if they mean resolution at GREATER than 1600 by 1200, its bad, OR if its resolution at GREATER than OR EQUAL to 1600 by 1200, its bad. Which is it? Nonetheless, it will still perform much better than my old 7900gt 256mb.

Any other thoughts or comments?

Well the only problem with your build is the psu, which barely meets the requirements for a single 8800gts, if you can afford getting one, get it without doubt

Are you sure?
"Minimum of a 400 Watt power supply.
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 26 Amps.)" is what the description says on Newegg for the 8800gts 320mb.

My current video card says:
"Minimum of a 400 Watt power supply.
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 20 Amps.)".

The Coolmax has dual 12 volt rails (16 + 18), which adds up to 34 (if I read the PSU 101 correctly, thats what you do right?). So far, the PSU powers my current video card quite nicely, is 6 more Amps going to do much? Maybe theres something Im missing?

Underneath the amperage ratings on the +12V rails there's a box saying 400W. Divide this by 12 to find the total amperage on the +12V rails (i.e. 33.33A). Adding the rails will only give you an (often wildly incorrect) approximation. In any case, it should be sufficient.
