Upgrading to XP and need to be logged in..Please HELP

Hello

I lend my friend the Windows XP CD and he upgrade from Windows ME to XP. After he was done installing everything was fine but after he restarted the computer they asking for a User Name and Password to log into windows. On Windows ME originally it doesn't have a user name and password but after installing XP they are asking for it. I would like to know is there anyways I can fix that or maybe some kind of boot disk I can download to hack into the administrative account? Someone please get back to me on that. Windows xp has an administrator account too, try entering from there, the password could be nothing so u just press enter.

So for user name do I leave it blank or use administrator or admin and leave password blank?
