Upgrading Xps210

Hi, I wanted to upgrade the processor in my Dell xps 210 which is currently a E6300.

My computer only has a 275watt psu so I know that I will be slightly limited but I was wondering what options I would have.

You could look into the 45nm chips - E7000/8000 series. They would work for you.

Don't count out upgrading your PSU either. You could get a decent unit with nearly double the wattage for around $60. It would be worth it.
 
Isn't the XPS 210 a small form factor(slim) pc? If so you might have some trouble upgrading your power supply... I would suggest you think about upgrading to a newer motherboard and case, and then you could overclock your processor and whatnot;) What exactly are you doing with your pc by the way, if you are gaming i would suggest a video card upgrade before you upgrade your cpu;)
 
yes the xps 210 is a small form computer. I was planning to upgrade the ram and the processor as the cpu i hv now is only core 2 duo 1.8ghz. I do a little gaming but mostly video streaming. Ive been searching for a graphic card and a new psu for a long time but most of them just don't fit (xps still too small for some micro psu 0.0 ) or too much power consumption e.g. 9600 gt =(
 
Ah, hadn't considered the SFF case... Yeah, a standard PSU will not fit in there.

Bomberboysk is right. To think about upgrading your CPU and GPU much more, you really are looking at a new case. You could keep your existing components and move them and just upgrade what you want.

i have an xps 210 too, same processor as yourself. you can put any core 2 duo in once it has the same fsb as your current processor which is 1066mhz.i've done a lot of research on this after buying an E6550 with a 1333mhz fsb, which turned out to be a waste of money. i'm looking at the possibility of installig a quad core with fsb 1066mhz, but i'm just weighing up my options. i think the way forward is to build a decent system from scratch! http://ark.intel.com/ProductCollection.aspx?familyID=26547
