i have a Nvidia GeForce Fx 5200 it has a three piece connecting piece on it that slots into pci the one i was looking at is a Gainward GeForce 6800GT 256MB but it only has two connection points on it will this matter?

hmm.....ok, I stand corrected. Alright, S_M_W_D, the card with the 2 pin connector, are they large pins, or fairly small pins? (basically, do they cover most of one edge, or are they a fairly small extrusion?)

Ok, the Gainward Geforce 6800GT is an AGP 8X card, so if your motherboard has an AGP 8x slot, you should be good to go. Additionally the Geforce 6800 cards require (Nvidia suggests) at least a 350w power supply. The card also requires a power supply with a video card power cable. If you don't already have one that meets these requirements, I recommend getting a good power supply that does (look around online, look at lots of reviews, look at PSU 101, you'll find a good one).

well i know now it a 250w power supply thanks for the help i wouldnt have know about the power needed for the graphic card but how do i find out if its a AGP 8X slot?

I dont think a 250W PSU is going to be enough to power a 6800GT. Nvidia recommends at least a 350WATT PSU for that card.

Information

i took a screen shot off the program

and it just says AGP so whats the verdict?
