Upgrading?

I had the computer in my sig built for me by a friend. I am really wishing I would have done some more research before jumping into a few of the parts on it. Plus, wish I would have built it myself.

That being said, I am thinking about upgrading my motherboard and CPU to something overclockable.. 2600k maybe.

How envolved will this be and should I go ahead and get a larger power supply when I do?

i don't think that psu is even getting your 570 to full power man, but with a new mobo, unless you got a retail copy, you will need a new windows disk as the current one is liscenced to the mobo, and a 2500k is plenty good if budget is a factor, only heavily threaded things like en and decoding files will use a 2600k better than the 2500k.

seasonic 500W should run your machine without problem.

I don't know how good with intel mobo, but with P67 chipset, I assume it is overclockable?

I would say go for i5 2500K or i7 2600K with aftermarking cpu cooler.
Also getting SSD drive would be another nice upgrade.

Here is where I need some help... If I went to the 2500K, it would fit in the Intel MOBO that I already have? Correct?.... and will it be Overclockable? I am hearing the the board isnt overclockable.

And am I right that the current CPU I have is NOT overclockable?

the 2400 is a "limited" edition you might be able to get past 4.0 with 1 core even less with 4 cores

if you are in to overclocking get a cpu with a "k" on it

Yeah.. couple of friends are telling me that the mobo isnt overclockable through the bios, but there was some type of program that I could run to overclock it.

I dont mind buying a 2500k cpu if the mobo can be overclocked. Ive tried to look it up but just dont know enough about what I am looking at.

I have the part number if anyone can find out any information... here it is:

p/n---- BLKDP67DEB3

Thanks for the help!
