Hi, I am fairly new to upgrading computer's and i have a question. If i am upgrading my motherboard can i still use the same RAM and Hard drive, also is it safe to do this. Thanks

Depending on the motherboard you might be able to use the same RAM. Though if you're upgrading to a newer board chances are you'll need new RAM.

As far as hard drive, yes you can. You will need to reinstall Windows though.

All depends on what you upgrade to.. post what you have now and what you want to upgrade to and we can tell you.

Also, don't forget that if you have the OEM version of Windows on the computer, you will need a new copy as it is licensed to the Mobo.

Slight mistake i made with that though, I have been slowly upgrading the current desktop i had ( PSU, Graphics card and case) replacing CPU soon so needed a new motherboard but on a tight budget so didn't really want to buy a new hard drive and ram along with it.

You will need to buy a new operating system as the OEM version of HP won't work on the new motherboard. And I would highly recommend getting an am3+ motherboard as you will be restricting your chance to upgrade if you get a am3 board. Not sure what your budget is and if you only want to go with amazon. But at least get this board.

or if you want a full atx

I was looking at probably under £90 so that Full ATX board is looking quite nice, I'm not really restricted to amazon but the board needs to be able to run AMD phenom II X4 965 3.4Ghz as that is the processor I'm looking to get. Thanks for the response.
