upload/download speed

Where are you setting this at? If your putting pics, files, videos on the net, i would choose a higher uploading speed. If your just downloading and browsing, i wouldnt get a high speed

Upload speed does NOT determine your download..and what program are you putting this in to? some file sharing program?

you have to know your upload and download speed.

thats what should determing u setting up the speeds. whats your connection and if its something like torrents. set it to around 20-50 up with like 3-5 connected downloaders and unlimited down.

if not, you dont really need to determine it if all ur doing is downloading off http

Remember that although it may say you get a high speed 8 megabit connection you will only be downloading at speeds of maybe 3/4 Megabits (correct me if I'm wrong in the speed I've never seen 8megabit) we have 1gigbit connection here at work and god damn that is slow, just because you expect 1gigabit to be a AMAZINGLY fast download speed.

Well thats my input *walks away*

If you use Azureus, the best upload speed to have set is 5KB. THis way you get unlimited download speed, and your bandwidth isnt getting used up by the upload.

There is a way to bypass upload speeds but thats something completely different.....

You just need to tell us what you'll mainly be downloading so we can tell you what you should do! :D

Then I would suggest you look for a connection at the least 512Kb/s but I would say try for 1MB/s...

Also look for one without a download limit that way you wont get capped for it and/or charged if you go over the limit.

Hope this helps.
