there's two ways to take a screen shot. the first, there should be a button on your keyboard that says "Pring Screen/Sys Rq" towards the upper right, next the the F12 key. if you press it, then it takes a snapshot of everything currently displayed on you monitor and copies the full image.
but if you have an application with a small window and ONLY want to take a snapshot of just that window, then click on that application and have it active. then hold down the "Alt" key and press the "Print Screen/Sys Rq" once and it copies only that one window you want.
then open up paint, hold down the "Ctrl" key and press the "V" key to paste the screenshot you just took. save the image, upload it on photobucket or any other hosting websites, then copy/paste the
for the second way, i don't think you did it right. you just linked it to the picture of only your application. but if you want your application with the WHOLE desktop showing also, just press the "Print Screen/Sys Rq" and nothing else to copy it. here is an example of mine. you see my PCwizzard, AIM, and whole desktop. but my screen is too big so when i uploaded the picture on photobucket, it will automatically resize:
No i did what i wanted to in two different ways. If you refer to above I said I wanted a sole window. I uploaded the image to the forum, as well as the individual link to the image.
@JLV2k5: Or you can use SnagIt to make a screenshot. There's a free version of this software. It's very cool. You can insert text, edit screenshot and many things else when you use this one.
