Ok. i bought a new computer recently.

monitor 22''
3GB Ram
500 HDD
CPU 2.33 GHz Intel core 2 duo

what kind of UPS do i need? 1200 WA maybe?
 
Is that 1200W? Nothing practical would use 1200W. If you don't have a video card in that build you would be fine with 300W. And the monitor uses it's own power source so it doesn't need to be counted. Unless you mean UPS as in a backup battery system.
 
UPS= Uninterruptable Power Supply, and i think the op means VA not WA. I have a 750VA Eaton electric Powerware 5115 personally, runs my system for about 4 minutes(plenty to save work or autoshutdown if im not here cuz of the raid) at idle, and if im running something intensive like f@h or games, about 2 minutes. 1200VA is plenty, and id recommend APC, great products for the price, eaton electric powerware is very nice also, but pricey.
