I hope this post in the right place

I am currently with virgin media for my broadband, and have recently upgraded my speed from 20mb to 60mb.
However I am only able to reach upto 20mb on my laptop, but can reach upto 60mb on my iphone 5.
I was just wondering if there could be an issue with my laptop causing this lack of speed. I have contacted virgin, and they just tell me to reset my router.

Any help much appreciated

Sorry I dont know what you mean by wireless G.

Wireless G is slower than Wireless N,The superhub Virgin supply is wireless N but if your laptops built in wireless is only capable of Wireless G speeds it will be slowed down.

Take a look here for more info ;)

What you could do is buy one of those cheap Wireless N USB mini adapters...and turn off your built in wireless adapter.

Here is an example of one,Although you can get them cheaper.

What model is your Laptop?

WPS is for sync up,For example on that adapter i posted it has a WPS button,If you press and hold WPS on your superhub..it will flash, then you press WPS on the adapter and it will connect them together.

From what you have said,It seems like your laptop isnt capable of Wireless N speeds,But until you tell us the model number of the laptop we dont know. ;)

Yup that laptops network card is Wireless "G" so that's why.

To get the full wireless "N" speeds you will either need to buy a new internal pci card and swap it out,Or get one of those USB adapters like i posted above.

I shall invest in the a usb adapter, I wouldnt have a clue what to do with an internal pci card nor know anyone who can swap it.

Thank you for your help
