hi, I need some help because this is getting out of my hands already... Ive been using windows 7 since it was release(downloaded it, pirated). Worked very well until few weeks ago that my computer was starting to freeze. I searched and it was happening to other people with windows 7. Now i want to format my computer and get XP back. Even if windows 7 is not the problem, i cant even start up my pc anymore, it freezes , screen goes black, when i enter my password in startup screen it freezes. So RIGHT now i WANT and need to format my pc. Ive tried everything. I already burned 3 different cd. BOOT Cd, Windows XP cd. They all work, i go to window recovery option, and the other options i was told to do, ive been following youtube tutorials but, every time i get to the point is loading....
THE BLUE SCREEN appears... :s it says Problem has been detected. Windows has been shutdown to prevent damage... And more crap below...

I really want to format and get XP back on my computer, any help?

Lesson one: don't pirate software, especially your operating system.

Are you trying to reinstall windows XP, I am assuming you have a lagitimate Windows XP disc? Or are you attempting to recover XP from a Windows 7 installation using a Windows XP recovery disc?

Lesson Learned.
My computer came with xp. With a pirated windows 7 cd i installed it in my computer. Now im trying to go back, format, i want back to normal.

This will teach you not to pirate. And BTW, this forum has rules against this. Many pirates (from what I read of course) put trojans and viruses on their stuff. If you can't fix your computer, you're getting all that you paid for when you pirated. Be thankful that you didn't lose your Internet access and/or get sued as well.

If you have a valid Windows installation disc (recover discs will not work). Then after its loaded up and you are selecting the install path there should be an option to format the drive.

If you cant load this up, I am assuming you have the bios boot configuration set up to have the DVD drive the primary boot source and not the HDD.

Finally, if all else fails I use an awesome application called Acronis Disc Director. This has never let me down in formatting, partitioning and recovering hard drives once an OS has become corrupted for whatever reason.
