Hey guys. I was flipping through my new issue of PC World when I just kept seeing pictures of dual-monitor setups. I then remembered that my mom had just bought a Viewsonic VA902b and put her older 15" flat panel display outside in the garage to collect dust.
I then went outside and jacked my mom's older monitor and put it into my room and hooked up the monitor to the other DVI port on my 6600GT. My monitors would work simoultaniously until I reacehd the login part of Windows.
So then I went to my nVidia's display manager and set it up for dual monitor displays. It wasn't working after that so I turned off my computer and started it up again. I then went back to my display manager and it said that my nVidia manager wasn't there! I then had to reinstall my drivers that came with my 6600GT. After I installed these drivers I finally got the dual monitor setup to work! (Thank God!
)
However, then I went to play FEAR with my dual monitor setup (I was thinking I was a god of course
) until I noticed that the graphics were getting screwed up. I would get slashes of different colors and the text on the main menu of FEAR was messed up also!
So then I just instinctively thought "it's just the drivers silly! It was doing this too when you bought it and tried to play HL2!"
I then went and clicked on my beloved FireFox and was frightened when the internet didn't come up! So then I thought "stupid Linksys wireless device!" So I unplugged the device and wired myself to our router via Ethernet wire. Still nothing! I thought the port was dead so I tried every port on our HUB and router! Nothing!
What is happening? The graphics are messed up because of the drivers right? What about my internet problems! I even tried plugging in my network card into all my PCI slots on my motherboard! Maybe my network card died? If so then it's an amazing coincidence that it happened when I was doing all of this dual-monitor stuff! I'll call my dad and tell him to pick up a network card on the way home. I'm hoping that is what it is...
For those of you who read this whole post and actually posted to help me I thank you very kindly! Sorry about it being so long..
