Ok here it goes....
I had an amd 4000+ and a MSI K9AGM3-FIH Motherboard
I bought a new cpu, it was the Amd 5000+ (note these are both x2 cpu's)
I put it in and everything was fine
For a While....
MSI LiveUpdate automatically said it was gonna update my bios version...
So i let it do that...
After it automatically restarted, i was surprised to see that my motherboard logo just stayed on the screen and froze, i tried restarting and the same again happened... I put my old cpu back in and it started up fine
, once windows was started i shut it down and put my new one back in, it ran fine
Then it started happening... I was running windows all fine and dandy but then it seemed everytime that the processor had to run faster than average eg. running a game. it would freeze then restart. At first it thought it was the processor, so i took the new one out and replaced it with my old one, it did the same, i put my new one back in and fired it up... and it just spazzed completely,
When i start it up now....
It first does 12 beeps of the speaker
Then it says " Your case has been opened, press any key except delete to continue"
I do that and it comes up with the bios settings, i have to save changes and exit
Windows wont start in normal mode because it ill just restart after the little bar has gone from left to right under the xp logo
It will start in safe mode but only for a short while....
Plz i need some help with this
I hav an idea to buy a new motherboard, but i only have £65, do really need one????
Thanx
