USB 12in1 Card reader problems

I have four slots of digital camera memory card reader, and it only detects one.

The specifications might help
Windows 2000 Professional with SP1
The USB drivers is: VIA USB universal Host Controller

Any solutions

could be a problem with the reader, maybe try usin another usb port.

I think it sees the whole reader as one try inserting cards in different slots( not at the same time) and see if all the slots work. I imagine that the whole device is just coming up as one
