When I plug something in one of my USB ports it says if I had high speed ports it could run faster....I have tried to up date with Driver Detective with no luck. they use to work but I'm not sure when they started this...Have used CCleaner

MB is a ASUS A8N-SLI
windows XP Pro Service pack 3

I've had a similar situation happen to me, it may just be a false report. Plug in a flash drive and copy some large files, are they in fact transferring at 1.1 speeds?

I forgot you were running XP, without knowing the speed you should be able to tell if something is running at 1.x specs or 2.0 specs. If you copy a file that's a few MB's in size, it should copy almost instantly on 2.0.

that is the best way for you to tell.

For a 3MB download it took 2 sec....Must be 1.0...In my device manager it shows an enhanced USB and I think that means it should be 2.0 ...Any idea on how to fix this?

It's a bit hard to tell, try copying over a larger file, at least 100MB and see how long it takes. USB 1.1 has a maximum transfer rate of 12Mbps, whereas USB 2.0 can reach speeds up to 480Mbps.
