USB 2.0? where has it gone?

I recently had a friend format my thinkpad and everything works perfectly except instead of having 2 x USB 2.0 ports I have one USB 2.0 and one USB1. I have tried updating the drive but it says I have the most current drivers?
Any Ideas?
 
Sounds like he may have put a ancient copy of XP on there. I have to install service pack one on my old copy to get it to work. Make sure you have service pack one then go into device manager and find the USB bus, right click, update driver, let windows find driver.
