I have a four year old pc and what im wanting to know is how or what do i need to enable me to have usb 2.0.

All you need is a USB 2.0 hub card that you plug into your motherboard

Depending on your motherboard, you may or may not already have it already.. but just not updated in the firmware. What is your motherboard if your USB ports are onboard. If not, check if it is in fact 1.1 only or is already 2.0 compatible.
