USB 3.0 does not like my 13 port hub

When I power-up my PC with my hub plugged in the error message 'error keyboard' pops up, so, I unplugged the hub until the desktop appears. Once I am on the desktop the hub does not always detect my USB 3.0 drives but always for my USB 2.0 drives. I have tried to update the drivers but even this does not work. I have even gone to great lengths of partitioning part of my SSD and installing a clean copy of Windows 7 64 bit professional and working from scratch but the problem is still the same.

Can anybody help solve this mystery please?
 
With nothing else plugged into the hub the problem still exist, although, when it is plugged into my USB 2.0 port, with or without devices plugged in everything operates well. What I cannot understand this that when I plug in my USB 3.0 drive directly into the USB 3.0 port, no problem there either. For some reason it does not register USB 3.0 - most of the time.
