USB 3.0 or Esata

So I'm at a fork in the road about these 2. I decided to order myself a usb 3.0 8gb flash drive just because. Then I realized I would need an adapter. Then I looked around and saw a lot of people leaning toward eSata. I'm just not sure what to go with. Right now (I think) USB 3.0 is about as fast as you can get. But eSata seems to be better for mass storage in terms of price (a usb 3.0 portable hard drive was like $700 for like 256gb) So what do you guys think?

i would agree usb in general is more common, you can always use a usb 3.0 drive in any pc or laptop, but also in a growing number of other tech like tvs, dvd players, hi-fi, sat nav etc, so you will get much more use out of it more so as time goes on.

i'd go for usb 3.0, because of it's compatibility with usb 2.0 ports and not all pc's have esata ports

Yeah, but not all computers have usb 3.0 either. I mean, of course it's backwards compatible, but the point of going with 3.0 is the increased speed.

it depand on your data you need to store. as you say, eSata seems to be better for mass storage, if your data is massive, why not choose eSata?
