USB 3 won't work

I have a WD My Book 2 TB external hard drive. If I plug it into a USB 2 port it works but not if I plug it into a USB 3. All my USB 3 ports work on my computer and all the cables are good because I check them out with a passport Hard drive. I look into the device manager and all my USB everything is working good, no yellow or red anything. I took it to another computer and the same thing. Doesn't this sound like a defective drive and should be sent back for a replacement? I'm posting this because the tech support people don't know much, they just like to past the buck.

Try on another computer that has usb 3 just to be sure. It's weird that it works in usb 2 port but not a usb 3 port. Could be the cable I guess.
