i'm guessing this is a no but does a cable exist that will convert firewire to usb. my camcorder has a firewire connection and i dont have a firewire port on my laptop. so do i need to buy a PCMCIA card to use firewire or can i just get a special cable?

go to start> then control panel > Then click on Add Hadware it is next to add and remove program. Then install your usb from there. That's what I did and it works for me. Let me know if you have some more problem. Your computer will work like a charm. my msn is [email protected] Contact if you can't figure it out. Thanks.

His USB is working, but he wants to use it with firewire.

Unfortunately it can't be done. The two technologies are incompatible. You'll need to get a PCMCIA card.
