USB as a CD

Don't ask me why but a friend of mine is wanting his jumpdrive to be detected by the OS as a CD. The only thing I can think of was the U3 thing on jump drives that autoruns when you plug them in and it is under that filesystem. Are there any tools that he can use to accomplish this or can I put an ISO under the root and have it mount that. thanks

Is he using a Linux OS? I have Plop boot manager and whenever i boot up i choose where i want to boot from. Is this the sort of thing you are looking for? Heres a picture of what it looks like when i boot (this is not a screen shot of my computer) but it looks about the same

you can find plop boot manager at http://www.plop.at/en/home.html. Is he planning on having dual boot?

Oh, sorry, i misread your post, i apologise. you could get a cd/dvd drive immulater and i believe in the options you can get it to run a usb as a cd. although some programs well detect the imulater and not work
