Hello Everyone,

The USB 4 Port hub I have for my laptop is:

Pretty sure that hub says it is 4x USB 2.0 Ports. Should I get another USB hub or is there something else is wrong? Any suggestions is appreciated. My computer keep freezing up due to that error message.

Thank you in advance!

If your computer doesn't support usb 2.0 then getting a usb 2.0 hub and plugging it in to your usb 1.1 ports won't give you 2.0 speeds. You would need to a 2.0 expansion card that goes in the slot on the side of your laptop.

Are you sure the USB port you have the hub plugged into is 2.0?

Have you used the particular USB device previously without getting the message?

Are you using XP? For USB 2.0 support in XP you have to have SP1 installed.

Pretty sure my laptop has usb 2.0. I have the HP Pavilion DV4T-1500 CTO Entertainment. This is the specs:

I am currently using Windows 7. The laptop specs is above. The only thing that is plugged is this KVM switch I use to share a wireless keyboard/mouse between 2 laptops. I am pretty sure this is the KVM Switch that keeps applying this message. It happens sometimes and doesn't happen sometimes. Not sure if there are any drivers for a USB device but normally it auto detects itself.

I would like to say Thank you for your guys replying to my problems. If you or anyone else have more information that would be awesome. I really appreciate everyone with the help!

Check your bios to make sure the usb ports are in high speed not full speed. Other than that, I have no clue unless the kvm switch is causing the issue.

You can use a live linux dvd O.S and run it for testing purpose. To see if USB find correctly and at full speed.
If yes, that mean your windows usb drivers has corrupt.
Just uninstall and re-install (re-install windows usb drivers, will do the windows by it self, when you choice find new hardware from device manager)
If issue remain and with linux... is a mechanic trouble or BIOS wrong setting.
Try default BIOS setting to restore..
