i have a SanDisk Cruzer Micro 1 GB Flash Drive and it is driving me nuts. It worked fine until one day, i had to manually pull out the flash drive without ejecting it first. since then, my computer pretty much crashes whenever i plug it back in. my programs become non-responsive and it doesnt allow me to open up the flash drive. whenever i try to restart or shut down the computer, it stays on the "Windows is shutting down" screen and never shuts off. i tried plugging it into a another computer and it works fine. im desperate for help. any suggestions?:(

Its a USB 2.0 port by the way. my computer passes all system requirements.

Do you have musicmatch jukebox installed?

ed: I know it sounds like a crackpot question, but apparently the U3 software that comes on SanDisks has conflicts with a musicmatch process (MIM.exe).

Just open task manager and end the mim.exe process and see if that prevents the freezing. If it does and you don't need/use musicmatch then uninstall it and use some other player or you can remove the U3 software from the SanDisk, you can find the removal tool on www.u3.com but you'll have to end that process before you can remove it.
