I encountered an unusual problem with my usb drive, when I plug it in, it's not recognized with 2 OS on three different laptops (both win 7 and ubuntu) which is strange because my PC recognizes it just perfectly (win 7). it was working fine on laptops before and suddenly it stopped working. i re-formatted it on pc and there is still no change (with ntfs and fat32 filesystem). anyway i have sandisk cruzer blade 16 GB. anyone knows the solution?

Does it have U3? If so, then disable it. U3 is a load of garbage. ;)

well, it had some sync program when i got it (i formatted my stick instantly to get rid of it), but i don't think it has u3. never appeared in my computer.

does it recognize as "other device" at all?, maybe you had the its driver within the usb now somehow its not there anymore, im not sure about the sandisk, but im sure some usb drives have it own drivers within

it is totally unrecognized with any program, i tried 4th laptop (older model which has usb ports on its back, windows xp) and it was read by it (i don't believe it is a driver problem). that 3 laptops i mentioned above are all relatively new, with usb ports on its sides, maybe it has something to do with power supply? possibly small crack which cuts small amount of voltage supply in my usb stick? (that seems like most possible solution for me)

ok, I've solved my problem. that connector on usb stick was dirty, so I cleaned it up a bit and it solved all my problems.
