USB MP3 Player trouble

I've been deleting/uploading songs to my mp3 player and had no problems until now. I cleared the whole memory stick and reformat/defragment the thing. Now that i uploaded new songs and/or songs that use to be on there before, the mp3 player says "No File" when pushing play, but the files are on there, i don't get why it keeps saying no file... any ideas?

Some do have 'boot' files on the drive. I assume yours is flash and not a HD, but still, I suppose it could have something that it loads when you power it up... Look around for perhaps firmware upgrades. Maybe reloading something like that would get it going again?

I had somewhat the same problem with my RIO mp3 player too last time. The text files don't show up even though they were there. After reading the manual carefully again, I found out that I have to save the text files in a folder named "text", which I deleted before. That solved the problem. Obviously you deleted an important file when you reformatted the memory stick.

When i tried reformatting an error occured, so really all i did was use disk defragment, there was a big fat red line at the end, maybe that could be the problem?

Well i tried making differend kinds of folders and still no solution. Right now i'm thinkin this mp3 player is a peice of junk without that one special file (I think theres one). No manual was included when i baught it :(

Well, my guess is that its just not in the right folder...

Like for my palm, I would have to put the music files in a folder called "music".. So it will be able to read from there... it doesn't search the whole entire drive.. Unless I put it there, the Palm will not be able to recognize it..

I'm guessing this is the case for your mp3 player.. When it was formatted, it deleted all the folders... Other than that... you should try the manufacturer's site for any possible updates and downloadable instruction's manuals.
