USB music in car issue.

With my wife's new car not having a CD player we purchased her a USB Stick so she can play her beloved Barry Manilow whilst traveling.

I attempted to load a couple if Albums from my itunes for her onto the USB stick, but on putting it into the car said "No media file found".

Reading the car manual it said just MP3 or WMA.

Problem here is all the files on itunes are neither of these extensions.

I put a CD in my laptop and transfered one song to the F drive, this has come up as a .CDA extension, so probably wont play in the car.

I wonder if anyone could suggest what I can do to allow my wife to play her music please.

Many thanks.

You posted this question in 3 different places, moderators frown on that!

Anyway, once you learn how much better it is to use mp3s in the car rather than CDs, you'll never want to go back.

In order to get songs off a CD and convert to mp3, you need to use a process referred to as "ripping". Windows Media Player can rip CDs as can many other software apps. See this: http://www.digitalcitizen.life/how-rip-audio-cds-windows-media-player-12

To convert songs from iTunes to mp3 see this: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7487060?start=0&tstart=0

As per others you can rip or transcode into mp3. If the car has Bluetooth you can also store and play them from her phone to the car which may support additional file systems.

I had to install VLC to stream FLAC from my phone

If it's got a tape deck you can use a tape adapter with a 3.5mm connection, easier than CD's.

Indeed. I'm deleting the other two threads, only need one.

Thanks, I realized I had posted my query in the wrong area so attempted to delete it.
I then thought I would post in the correct area and accidentally posted it a second time in the same area.
