USB on motherboard problem?

Hi,

I built a brand new system. I just could not boot the USB external drive or USB flash drive at all. I am able to boot it on other computers, not this motherboard.

The external drive is an Ubuntu operating system and I like to use it on any computers wherever I want to go.

The components are:

Core i7 920
EVGA x58 SLI - 132-BL-E758-A1
EVGA GTX 285 SC
CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel
Corsair 750 watt PSU
WD Caviar Blue 160GB
WD Caviar Black 1Tb
Samsung SH-S223Q OEM

Is there a workaround to make it work?

TIA!

You must enable AHCI in the BIOS.

BE WARNED: If you enable this and let it try to boot into Windows,
it will hose it up, and you'll need to Repair using your install disc.

After you change the BIOS to enable AHCI and boot up Ubuntu,
restart and change the BIOS back before Windows boots. Saves time.
