usb pci 2.0 card not detected

Hi.

i installed a pci usb card 2.0 into my computer today. it's a via 6212 chipset card, i have windows xp sp2 installed in my computer. first of all, it doesn't detect this card. all i can see in the device manager is the two usb onboard connections i have. i have tried to install the drivers that came in the cd along with the card. have tried there updated version from via's website but no help. what could be the possible reason it is not being detected?
 
yes i have already tried that....but it doesn't solve the problem....

i suspect if any kind of driver problem is there....
as the pci card provides power( when i inserted my pen drive into the usb port...it blinked for a moment...that shows it provides power but then it it not recognized.)
