USB port at a high speed?

Whenever I connect my external hard drive [500GB] to one my my PC's usb ports, I get this message.

When I click to see the available high speed ports, I get this tab.

I don't know what to do. Where is this high usb port placed in my PC?

Are you using the ports on the front or the back of the computer? sometimes the front usb ports on cases are not usb 2.0. If you are using the ports in the back I would try uninstalling the drivers, reboot the pc and let windows reinstall them.

thats been my case in the past. Ran fine from the usb's in the back.

I've tried both those in the back and in the front. Both reveal the same problem.
