My Gateway XP system laptop does not recognize when the printer cable is attached to the port. Cable is good...used cable to test print with another PC. Device Mgr shows all port and hubs working properly. Unistalled and reinstalled a USB port...no change. Reboot shows printer as offline. Tried to reinstall printer from it's CD...first step is plug in cable...it was plugged in and thought it wasn't....system does not recognize when cable is plugged into port!.....any ideas?....thanks
