USB ports in MOBO extremely tight - is this normal?

I'm breaking in a New PC build - and just tried inserting a flash drive into back MOBO USB panel - and the ports are EXTREMELY SNUG TIGHT fitting. Is this pretty normal for new MOBO - and will it loosen up over time?

I don't see why it wouldn't loosen over time. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Though if it bothers you, invest in a cheap hub or something. That's what I did so I wouldn't wear out/break the USB ports on my computer.
 
The USB ports on the front of my new case are quite tight, so I guess its pretty common. I imagine they will loosen up after a bit of use.
 
there are prong like extensions on the usb female connector. ever wondered what the two squares on the usb connector were for?....well the prongs lock onto it. now, the prongs are in a more than normal downward position. get a small screwdriver and bring these prongs slightly up. These are found in the center top and bottom of the connector and come in pairs. you can see the small strips of metal on the connectors on the middle below. Just push them up a little.
