USB problem driving me up the wall

i know this problem does have a solution i have just yet to find it. i was hoping all of you would be able to help me.

basicaly when i turn my computer off everythign that is plugged into y usb ports stay switched on and running even though i turn my computer off.

i have looked in bios and in system tools and i cant figure out how to make them shut off when the computer does.
any advice?

Whats the problem? Just becuase you turned the pc off, doesn't mean its not getting power. If you want the usb stuff off aswell, either a) unplug the computer or b) unplug the usb devices
 
no no, when i used to shut down the computer my external hard drive would shout down as well. i have it pluged in all the time. as weel as my wirless keyboard. but i installed a new mobo and now when i shut down windows and turn the pc off, the hard drive and the keyboard still work. how do i get it so when i turn the comp off the hdd and the keyboard shut down 2?

Do you need them to? my external USB drive does the same thing, but it doesnt harm the drive or anything.
