usb problem help plz.

how are you

well, i have problem with my usb ports/driver or so.

The problem started in this way.

1st my comp was not detecting cd-rom,i made some changes in bios,chipset,other changes like this , but it did not work so i opened the case and re-inserted the cd rom wires, it worked but after this my usb device failed to appear or my pc failed to detect.then again i made changes in bios or so, but all in vein

then i re-installed my windows xp sp1...updated to xp sp2 , but still my computer is not detecting usb like "MP3" AND "MP4".Please help me, i am very worry about this.

Okay, first things first reinstalling Windows wouldn't have helped in reality. What you need to do is, go onto the microsoft website and there is a tutorial fixer that you can download and it changes settings to your registery settings the URL is http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=aw;en-us;314060&eula=1

Search through Google also and find USB Device drivers and reinstall them. If all else fails, go into your device driver properties and click on 'Roll Back' this reverses and changes you may have made whether it by accident or not.

Really the BIOS shouldn't have been touched. But we all live and learn don't we!
